Leaving tomorrow.....

I m almost there... This time without any special preparation, I m leaving tomorrow with the ferry from Ijmuiden to Newcastle, where I m going to join the rest of the group and board "Polar bear". The yacht I´m going to sail is 70ft long and more than 70 tonns.It is constructed specially for arctic sailing, so no fear no limits....

i bought only a small gadget for this trip; a so called "track logger". It is going to record my gps data 24/7. I made already a test trip with it, which you can look at;

Since I paid the deposit for the trip, it seems that the followings become reality later on this year:

Saturday 05th June 2010 Arrive Polar Bear 0900 in New Castle / England. A warm welcome onboard. We’ll spend the day becoming familiar with the boat, the voyage and each other! We should be at sea by 1800.
Sunday 06th June - At sea
Monday 07th June - Arrive Lerwick 1400
Tuesday 08th June - Time to explore the mysterious Shetland Islands
Wednesday 09th June - Depart Lerwick 0700
Thursday 10th June - At sea
Friday 11th June - Arrive Torshavn 1400
Saturday 12th June - Hiking / photographing / fishing ... lots to do in the Faroes!
Sunday 13th June - Depart Torshavn 0700
Monday 14th June - At sea
Tuesday 15th June - At sea
Wednesday 16th June - Arrive Husavik 0700
Thursday 17th June - Depart Husavik 0700 Arrive Akureyri 2200
Friday 18th June - Final farewells, return home from Iceland!
